Marathon Industries, Inc. was acquired by the Eagle Bridges Company in 1984. The Eagle Bridges Company/Marathon Industries is a privately owned corporation in the state of Georgia. The offices, laboratories and production facilities are located in Byron, Georgia, just off Interstate I-75 on Highway 49. Bruce E. Bridges founded Eagle Bridges in May of 1953. Bruce L. Bridges, his son, joined the company that same year and became Owner/CEO in 1964. Kevin Bridges is the current President/Chief Operating Officer and has been with the company since 1975.

Marathon Industries, as we know it today, got its start back in the late 1940's. At that time, John March owned his own construction company and was one of the first insulation contractors. He was also one of the first to use fiberglass as a means of insulation. This presented a problem in the fact that he had to come up with a way to coat and protect the finished product. John solved this problem by buying a manufacturing facility and started to produce his own protective coating to go over his fiberglass insulation. At its beginning, the company name was Insul-Coustic but was changed to Marathon Industries in 1979. In 1984, Eagle Bridges Company bought Marathon and moved it from New Jersey to its present location in Georgia.

Although by definition, we are a manufacturing company, we tend to look at ourselves more as a service organization. Our Mission Statement, developed by our corporate Board of Directors, reads as follows: "Our overall mission is to Serve: CUSTOMER first - COWORKER second - SUPPLIERS and INVESTORS third - COMMUNITIES fourth."

Marathon Industries, Inc. serves industrial, commercial and institutional clients by providing the following mastic, adhesive and sealant needs:

Knowledge and understanding of customer requirements.
Assistance in evaluation of new needs.
Design or selection of the highest value products available that meet the desired appearance, protection, performance and application criteria of the customer.
Delivery of products and technical assistance on time, as needed.
